TROOP’S RENEE AND STAN RECTOR TEAM WITH CHIPOTLE IN SIMI VALLEY TO PROVIDE FREE MEALS TO OVER 60 PEOPLE

SIMI VALLEY, CA – When Renee Rector won a free meal recently at the Simi Valley Chipotle Mexican Grill’s regular drawing, she quickly envisioned that with the cooperation of Chipotle’s General Manager Owen Noguera it would be a great opportunity to provide a much needed boost for the local food bank while providing a free meal for members of the community.

It all started when Renee, an agent teamed with husband and business partner Stan Rector in Troop Real Estate’s main Simi Valley office, won a free meal at Chipotle Mexican Grill.

“Owen asked me to bring in my friends and family members for a free meal. Giving it some thought and having participated in Troop’s drives to give back to the community for years, I asked him, “How many people can I bring?”  He said, “how many people are close to you?”

Renee tried to be modest, but said “about 30 or so”.   Owen said “fine.’

“So Stan and I felt it would be a great idea if we offered our clients a free meal at Chipotle Mexican Grill.  But we asked them to bring in canned foods and other non-perishable food items to help our local Care & Share food bank in Simi Valley.

“The most amazing part was how many people showed up.  Including our clients, their friends and/or family members, Chipotle Mexican Grill provided somewhere between 60-78- free meals.  We were touched to help so many people with Owen’s cooperation,” Renee said.

Just last week, Renee and Stan visited Care & Share to make the donation of the canned goods in Chipotle Mexican Grill’s name.

“We raised a considerable amount of food in the three hours we were at Chipotle and were incredibly proud to see a business owner like Owen feed so many families.  Many of these folks are facing hardships in today’s economy, so it was great to see them get out, and enjoy a great meal,’ Renee Rector said.

FREE SMALL, MID-LEVEL BUSINESS FORUM HIGHLIGHTS
TROOP BUSINESS SERVICES RIBBON CUTTING AUG. 27

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA – Responding to the legions of people seeking to weather challenging economic times through entrepreneurial business ventures, a special  free small business educational forum will highlight a new business ribbon cutting event for Troop Business Services Aug. 27 conducted by the Westlake Village Chamber of Commerce,
The ribbon cutting event will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the public parking lot adjacent to Troop’s offices at 3967 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Westlake Village.  City officials, chamber officers, and leaders of the business community are expected to attend.
“Traditional ribbon cuttings are significant because they welcome new businesses to the community and provide vital networking opportunities,” said Mike Ballas, a chamber “Ambassador” and a member of the Troop Business Services team.
Immediately following the ribbon cutting, Randall J. Barondess, director of Troop Business Services, will conduct a small business forum in Troop’s offices.
“We are utilizing this event to educate and provide networking opportunities to people interested in buying a business as to what it takes, what to look for and what’s involved.  Concurrently, we will present information tailored to small and mid-size business owners on the proper way to position their businesses for sale.  Far too many owners are not prepared to present themselves to potential buyers,” Barondess said.
He added that anyone interested in buying or selling a company is invited to the forum.
Barondess reported that a group of leading Small Business Administration experts representing leading area financial institutions, as well as an official of the Valley Economic Development Center, will be on hand to provide educational literature and
counsel.  Additionally, Certified Business Brokerage staff members from Troop Business Services will be available to offer guests direction on business acquisitions or sales.
In addition to providing free educational assistance and networking channels to the general public for those considering buying or selling small to mid-level businesses, Barondess noted that information will be imparted for creating new opportunities in the retail, service, logistics, medical and professional fields.  For further information call Troop Business Services at (805) 990-9940.
